This weeks wisdom is about the Internet. When you leave comments on web sites remember that other people can read what you type in. With that in mind, its not a good idea to talk s*** about people or skate shops because they could see it and get really mad. Here’s a hypothetical. Some kid, we”ll call him Brian Micknor, films a pretty good little video at a fun park. He or a friend posts it up on youtube and a bunch of people leave comments and stuff. Then, some smack talking begins. Some things are said about a shop that happens to be really cool, and not accepting any new skaters right now. Then lets say the shop owner goes and sees this video and happens to read the comments, not good. Said shop owner gets angry an the next time our friend Brian goes to the park the shop owner confronts him. Words are exchanged, fists are thrown, things really get out of hand. All of this could have been avoided if people just watched what they said on the Internet. Remember everyone, its only skateboarding. There’s no reason for anyone to be talking shit about anyone. So keep those comments clean and skateboarding will be a much happier sport.
Check out this video of Artifacts friend from Keystone Skateboards John Desimas. He came down with a few other guys and just killed the rail. When you watch this video keep in mind that John is regular footed! After you watch this video come down to the shop and grab one of their boards.
There will be a Bodega demo at Vertigo skate park this Saturday. The Brick wheels team will also be skating so come down and show your support for both teams and watch some great skating.
Its only three tricks but its in HD!!!!!! This clip was shot by our good friend Jeff DuPaul, with his HD camera, in HD. Did I mention its shot in HD? Cause it is, its in HD. HD! HD HD HD!!!!!! HD
Ok, this weeks wisdom might seem common knowledge to most of us but I think there are some of you out there that might not know. If someone you know offers you a snow cone in the middle of winter, don’t take it. You might say, “what if its not yellow, we still cant eat it?”. Correct, its winter, its cold, who the hell’s going to eat a snow cone right now. I don’t care what color it is, DO NOT EAT IT! Your friends want to see you eat pee, they might go to great lengths to trick you. They can add food coloring, lots of things to make it look like a real snow cone, but its not. Please make sure you don’t eat anything anyone gives you ever, any time, any place. Don’t trust the establishment!
One more thing, there is no such thing as a chocolate snow cone, don’t fall for that one either. Think about it, what could it be? Ya, that’s gross right.
We will be at the Glamour Kills contest at SkateTime 209 this Saturday, Dec. 12. It is a shop team only contest so it should be real fun. If you see any of the guys skating Haven in preparation for the event make sure to tell them to “SKATE BETTER!”. If you can make it up to the event that would be even better, then you can scream that at us while the contest is going on. Heres the flyer and be sure to check out both web sites.
